Chelsea v Fenerbahce Betting Preview
Chelsea v Fenerbahce, Champions League, Quarter Final, 2nd Leg
At 33/1 (Bet365, BetInternet, Boylesports) there won’t be too many punters lumping on Fenerbahce to lift the Champions League in Moscow in May, however there’s plenty of pundits that think they could be the proverbial Dark Horse of the remaining 8 sides.
The Turkish side travel to Stamford Bridge tomorrow night with a 2-1 lead to defend from the first leg. They must try to avoid defeat to a side that have not lost at home in the Champions League since a 1-2 reverse against Barcelona in February 2006. In fact Chelsea have a decent record in turning around first leg deficits, having done so in 6 of the 10 previous instances, most notably in 2005 when they knocked out Barcelona with a 4-2 win following a 2-1 defeat at Camp Nou.
Fenerbahce are on a run of 6 wins in a row and currently sit 2 points clear at the top of the Turkish League with 5 games to play. Chelsea’s only defeat in the last 7 came in the first leg of the tie and will have been boosted by the way domestic results panned out over the weekend.
Chelsea are unsurprisingly hot favourites to win in the 90 minutes but at a best price of 31/100 (Centrebet) they look a bit too short for my liking. Having said that I’m not about to get stuck into the 10/1 (Bet365, Skybet, VCBet) available on a surprise win for the Turks. Instead, if you fancy a bit of an upset I’d recommend the 9/4 (Bet365, Betfred, Sportingbet, VCBet) on Fenerbahce to be the side in the last 4 by the end of the night.
Given that Chelsea haven’t lost too many in the Champions League this season - the two goals scored against them was the same amount the have lost their previous 8 games this campaign - then you’d have to think they’d be a good shout to keep a clean sheet tomorrow. If they do so then the 11/10 (Betfred, VCBet) on there being under 2.5 goals has it’s appeal.

Well Fenerbahce gave as good as they got but Chelsea sealed their qualification with a late 2nd goal. The game finished 2-0 so I hope some of you backed the Unders at 11/10.
